For flatmates, couples and families

The end of the “who does more” argument.

Even Out shares your household chores fairly, week after week. It keeps a rolling four-week balance, so a busy week is evened out by a lighter one, and nobody has to keep score.

Coming soon to Android and iPhone.

Shared homes run on invisible work.

Someone always ends up carrying more, and usually they’re the only one who notices. Chore wheels fall apart within a week. Group chats turn into guilt trips. Even Out replaces all of it with one calm, fair plan.

“I did the bathroom last time.”

“Am I the only one who sees the bin is full?”

“Just tell me what to do and I’ll do it.”

How Even Out works

1

Add who lives there

Name everyone in your home and say how much time each has for chores. Invite them now or later. Someone away for a while? Mark it, and the plan adapts.

2

List your chores

Tick the usual ones or add your own, with how often (from daily to once a year) and roughly how long they take.

3

Get a fair plan every Monday

Everyone sees what’s theirs and ticks it off on their phone. Swap a task when life gets in the way.

Fair over a month, not per chore

Even Out adds up the time everyone put in over the last four weeks. Whoever is furthest behind their fair share gets the next task. A heavy week is repaid with a lighter one, without anyone keeping score.

No points, no streaks, no leaderboard. Just a plan everyone can see is fair.

SamRobinExample: they take turns doing more, and end the month level.

Made for real households

Remembers the chores you rarely do

Descale the kettle every month, clean the gutters every six months, test the smoke alarms once a year. Set how often once, and the chore turns up in the plan when it’s due.

Busy weeks and time away

Holiday, exams, a cold. Mark it and the plan routes around that person.

Your way, per task

Fairly assigned, taking turns, up for grabs, or always the same person. Pick what fits each chore.

Swap without the awkward chat

Trade a task or hand it off in a few taps. The balance keeps track, so nobody loses out.

Gentle reminders, that’s all

A note when the week’s plan is ready, a nudge if something is overdue, and a short recap on Sunday.

No points, no competition

Even Out is a calm tool, not a game. Nobody wins chores.

Questions

How does Even Out decide what’s fair?

Every chore has a time. Even Out adds up what everyone did over the last four weeks and gives the next tasks to whoever is furthest behind their fair share, taking into account how much time each person has.

What if someone is away or ill?

Mark the days in the app and the plan works around them. When someone has less time for a while, they get a lighter share.

Can it remind us of chores we only do every few months?

Yes. A chore can repeat every few days, every few weeks or every few months, up to once a year, and you can set when it’s next due. When the time comes, it appears in that week’s plan, so cleaning the oven or the gutters doesn’t depend on someone remembering. A chore can also have seasons, like mowing the lawn only from spring to autumn.

Can we use it with children?

Yes. Children don’t need a phone or an account: add them to the household by name, and the plan includes them like everyone else.

Can I use it on my own?

Yes. With just you in the household, Even Out plans your recurring chores every week, tells you when the plan is ready and nudges you when something is overdue. The fairness balance comes into play once someone else joins, and you can invite people whenever you like.

What does it cost?

Even Out is free to use.
